The coastal Georgia waters offer many offshore fishing opportunities year round. The mild weather in the Golden Isles permits trolling and bottom fishing for a wide variety of fish such as king mackerel (kingfish), cobia, barracuda, sheepshead, grouper, snapper and black sea bass. Fishing for grouper, snapper and black sea bass is best in the fall; while sheepdshead, king mackerel, cobia and barracuda fishing is best in late spring and early summer.
